WINTER TERM 2023

It hardly seems any time at all since we were in Upper Mustang during the summer!

Late September, all our lovely staff, teachers and students packed up school in Mustang for the winter and travelled over the Himalayan Annapurna range to their winter school location on the outskirts of Pokhara.

And without much time to get settled, exams were in full swing once again…..

EXAM TIME ALREADY!

INTER-HOUSE COMPETITIONS

Inter-house competitions are encouraged and this month has been no exception.
Well done and congratulations to team Kunga House for your success in the inter-house English speaking competition.
Really beautifully articulated presentation!

And congratulations to Team Tswang House for winning the badminton match .

Taking part is as important as winning – it gives all students a chance to showcase their skills and learning as well as giving an opportunity to boost confidence by speaking in public and presenting their best efforts.
Well done everyone!!!

SCIENCE PROJECTS

Students from each class displayed their science projects in an exhibition attended by external education auditors and local community members.

We’re so proud of all their efforts and impressed with how they have showcased their knowledge.

Please help us raise funds for to support the school construction of a new science lab – absolutely essential to support the Year 10 to 12 classes!

TIME FOR FUN

October and November bring celebrations for Teachers Day, where the children give thanks to and entertain their teachers and then it’s the staff and teachers’ turns to celebrate National Children’s Day – great fun is had by all and is a special time for showing gratitude to each other.

FRIDAY LEARNING through SPORTS

Typical Friday activities include physical games and competition – enjoyed by everyone and full of learning about working together as a team and learning through coaching and collaboration and, of course, everyone loves to win!

HAPPY TIHAR 2023 (2080 for Nepalese readers)

The beautiful festival of Tihar (Diwali) is the second biggest Nepali festival after Dashain, and is usually allocated a three-day-long national holiday. The festival encourages  reverence to not just the gods, but also to animals such as crows, cows, and dogs that have long-lived alongside humans.

Our younger children enjoyed a trip into Pokhara for funfair rides and ice cream!
