Looking Forwards A short blog to sent grateful thanks to all of our friends and supporters for keeping us going through 2020. Hopefully you’ll be pleased to hear that this week we sent enough funds, together with our friends at Altevette-Onlus in Italy, for our annual donation to cover the school’s operational running costs for 2021. As we begin a new year we are funding the salaries for 8 teachers and 2 support staff and all the operational costs for providing the education of 41 girls in school (possibly 5 more returning as soon as travel restrictions are lifted). Lessons can begin againHello everybody, apologies for the delay in writing the latest newsletter. It’s been a challenging few months for everyone. During lockdown many girls stayed at the school as usual as they have no families to go to or live too far away and so on. For those that managed to get home for lockdown, most have now returned to school for the winter term in Pokhara, and soon settled in after receiving their health checks. The latest 6 girls to arrive back this week made the long journey from Rukum to the south west of Upper Mustang and are now in quarantine for 2 weeks. ...

The school in the evening light Sparse news in lock down Communications are obviously more challenging during the lock down period and news is less frequent. After nearly 4 months with travel restrictions in place, we’re happy though to share that some children from villages nearer to the school in Mustang are able to return. For our girls whose families live in even more remote areas such as Dolpo and Rukum in the impoverished western regions, they are unable to get back to school due to the strict travel restrictions still in place.
